Historical and spiritual significance of Amarnath shrine

There are many ancient stories behind the discovery  of the cave.One of them is ,Once a Saint gave a bag full of coals to Shepherd  Buta  Malik.And when Buta Malik reached his home and he opened the bag,he saw that it is full of gold coins.He ran back to the saint and he saw the saint was disappeared. He saw at that place there was a cave with a gaint iced lingam. From then only ,this place became the holy place for the hindu pilgrimage.

Amarnath Cave

The Amarnath Cave  has been the place of worship since many years.There are many stories behind the discovery of the cave.It is said that “ someone who has completed his holy journey gets ‘Moksha’ in his life”.Amarnath Yatra is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Amarnathyatra take place in the month of shravan (June-July). Shiva –Lingam appears once in a year in the holy cave inside himalayas.
